About the Role
This role is ideal for a high-impact operational leader who excels at managing high-volume technical workflows while serving as a key partner to the Sales organization. The Manager of Scoping Operations is responsible for the daily productivity, technical accuracy, and professional development of the scoping team, ensuring that every project is "installation-ready" and optimized for customer conversion. This person will combine a data-driven mindset with sales enablement strategies to bridge the gap between sales intake and installation, reducing friction in the buyer's journey and empowering our sales team with the technical speed and accuracy needed to win.
Responsibilities
The Manager of Scoping Operations will:
- Manage daily resource allocation across novice, intermediate, and expert electrical design (scoping) teams, ensuring the program achieves rigorous speed and quality goals, directly accelerating the sales cycle by providing rapid, accurate technical validations that drive customer conversion
- Act as the primary owner of departmental metrics, utilizing real-time dashboards to monitor SLA compliance and identify volume trends or bottlenecks early, proactively reallocating tasks to maintain velocity
- Lead individual and team performance by conducting regular metric-based 1:1s, using data to identify coaching opportunities for scoping error rates, fostering a "first-time-right" culture that minimizes friction for both the salesperson and the end customer
- Monitor Installation Rework and Inspection Pass Rates to ensure high-quality handoffs, collaborating with technical leads to update scoping protocols when field data indicates recurring issues, protecting the company’s reputation and reducing post-sale cancellations
- Motivate a diverse team of internal associates and BPO partners, fostering a culture of accountability while guiding the team through the adoption of AI-driven scoping tools and agent-assisted design, ensuring the operation scales efficiently as volume grows
- Identify process friction points through deep data analysis and recommend workflow simplifications, ensuring "non-scoping" administrative tasks are successfully offloaded to entry-level teams, allowing expert scopers to focus on high-complexity deals that require technical precision
Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- At least four years of experience in Operations Management, Sales Operations, or Customer Success Leadership within a high-volume, SLA-driven environment
- Experience leading and motivating remote or hybrid teams of associates and leads to meet rigorous productivity and accuracy standards
- Experience using CRM and project management tools (e.g., HubSpot) to monitor team performance and manage work queues
Preferred Qualifications
Additionally, candidates may demonstrate:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on delivering candid, data-backed feedback
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify performance trends to guide operational decision-making
- High attention to detail and a "first-time-right" mentality to drive down rework and human touches per project
- Experience in a startup or high-growth tech company, particularly in PropTech, FinTech, or Renewable Energy
- Experience managing offshore or outsourced partner teams (Tier 1 support layers)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where process logic evolves quickly with the introduction of new equipment and AI tools
