Job Description We seek a dynamic and motivated Travel Desk member to join our team. The person will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in managing travel arrangements, coordinating itineraries, and assisting with various administrative tasks related to travel planning. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to the travel industry and an opportunity to develop organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Roles and Responsibilities · Assist the Travel Desk team in coordinating and arranging employee travel logistics, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and documentation. · Collaborate with travel agencies and vendors to secure competitive rates and manage reservations effectively. · Maintain up-to-date records of travel schedules, itineraries, and other relevant information for travelers. · Assist with preparing travel expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policy. · Support the team in resolving travel-related issues or discrepancies that may arise during the planning or execution phases. · Research and compile travel information, such as visa requirements, health advisories, and destination details to provide to travelers. · Assist in organizing and coordinating travel-related events or workshops. · Participate in departmental meetings and contribute innovative ideas to improve travel processes. · Contribute to the maintenance of a well-organized and efficient travel desk database. · Complete any other ad-hoc tasks or projects related to travel desk operations as assigned.
Skills and Expertise: · Current enrolment in a relevant degree program (Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or related field). · Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. · Basic understanding of travel industry trends and practices is a plus. · Prior experience in travel planning, customer service, or administrative roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
