Overview: One Inc is looking for a Product Manager determine strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for customer-facing APIs and integration points.
In this role, you will act as the connective tissue across the entire organization – senior leadership, Engineering, Sales, Services, Finance, and Product Marketing. You will be responsible for bringing the voice-of-the-market into the business, with a particular focus on the customer developer/implementation team. In addition to deeply understanding customer and prospect needs—at the technical product feature level—you will have your finger on the pulse of the payments industry and insurance industry trends, and you will track what top competitors are doing to innovate in their products’ API design, system modernization, and connection security protocols. You will synthesize this information to find opportunities to:
- Reduce effort for customers to integrate with One Inc’s product suite,
- Create a unified integration experience,
- Ease of integration maintenance, and
- Adhere to industry-leading system connectivity security options (e.g.., Oauth 2.0, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Map-out the customer experience for building and maintaining system integrations with One Inc.
- Meet with developers and implementers at One Inc customers and integration partners to empathize with their needs and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Manage the One Inc customer developer-facing documentation “as a product” in conjunction with technical writers.
- Develop a vision and roadmap for a unified integration experience across One Inc products.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers, prospects, analysts, and others.
- Be a thought-leader within the organization on emerging trends in API and system connectivity best practices.
- Own competitive analysis at the deep technical product feature level. Identify competitive shortcomings that your product needs to address. Be the go-to resource for product marketing as they create messaging and sales materials that take advantage of competitive product feature strengths and are informed by any weaknesses.
- Work with product marketing to provide them with an understanding of the market opportunity, competitive advantages, user personas, product benefits, and roadmap futures so they can build our go-to-market assets and plans.
- Conduct win/loss analyses to identify product and feature flaws that must be addressed.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience making and landing recommendations to executives.
- Experience in and knowledge of market research techniques.
- A passion for bringing objective evidence to every discussion—not satisfied to argue product futures in a vacuum without external data and insights.
- Technical proficiency to interact with APIs via Postman or other such tools.
- Clear understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, Oauth, and other relevant system-to-system implementation techniques.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred candidates will have experience in: B2B payments, consumer payments, API design, integration implementations.
- Preferred candidates will have experience writing/reading code and implementing API integrations themselves.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related discipline, or relevant experience.
- 3+ years of software product management experience.
- English fluency at native level.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to customer and other locations in the United States.
