Position Title: Lead Network Data Strategist
Department: Vendor Network
Reports To: Chief Network Officer
Location: US Remote
Overview: The Lead Network Data Strategist is a critical leadership role responsible for owning and driving the data strategy for the network organization, a key revenue-generating function of the business. This role partners closely with the Chief Network Officer and cross-functional teams to define and execute data-driven strategies that increase adoption, optimize performance, and support the successful rollout of new products such as Express One.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and exceptional communication skills, enabling them to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This role requires balancing high-level business strategy with deep technical execution while ensuring data solutions are practical, usable, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the overall data strategy for the network team, ensuring alignment with business growth and revenue objectives
- Partner with the Chief Network Officer to define, evolve, and execute the network data roadmap
- Translate high-level business questions into meaningful data strategies, dashboards, and reporting solutions
- Support network operations, enrollment, and optimization teams with actionable insights to drive adoption and revenue growth
- Serve as the subject matter expert for network data, advising product, technology, finance, and carrier-facing teams
- Build and oversee dashboards and reporting with a focus on usability and adoption by business stakeholders
- Perform root cause analysis on enrollment-related escalations and identify corrective actions
- Collaborate with finance to define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor trends in virtual card and vendor-paid adoption, identifying risks and opportunities
- Maintain sensitivity lists for vendor outreach and communications
- Play a key role in driving adoption of new products (e.g., Express One), including defining success metrics
- Lead and manage two direct reports, providing coaching, prioritization, and professional development
- Oversee network-related AI and advanced analytics initiatives, including LLM-based projects
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and other modern data tools
- Work across multiple initiatives simultaneously, quickly switching contexts and engaging with stakeholders as needed
- Bridge the gap between business and data by translating ambiguous requests into clear, actionable deliverables
Skills:
- Proven ability to translate complex business challenges into data-driven strategies and actionable insights
- Strong technical expertise in:
- SQL (T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)
- Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms
- Python and PySpark for data analysis and manipulation
- Excel for advanced data analysis
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines (Microsoft Fabric preferred)
- Familiarity with dbt (nice to have)
- Experience using AI-native code editors (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot)
- Strong data modeling and dashboard development capabilities, with emphasis on usability over complexity
- Data science and/or statistical analysis background
- Experience working with AI/ML initiatives, including exposure to large language models (LLMs)
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, technology, finance, and operations
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives
- Ability to operate both at a strategic (30,000-foot) level and in deep technical detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including root cause analysis
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing team members
- Experience in payments, insurance, or network-driven business models preferred
- Strong customer mindset, ensuring data solutions are practical, adopted, and impactful
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Analytics, Data Science, or similar) preferred
