Accounting Intern – Summer 2024

The Accounting Intern will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting support. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable with rapid changes in direction and environment. The ideal candidate must project professionalism and have strong interpersonal skills. The Accounting Intern will work under the general direction of the Accounting Manager.

What You'll Do:
Accounts Payable
- Review, verify coding and process invoices within the Concur AP platform
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Review and process employee expense reports, and audit to ensure policy compliance
Accounts Receivable
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of customer invoices
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment
- Resolve customer account and billing discrepancies
- Prepare cash receipt logs and coordinate deposit activities, including applying credit card payments for online purchases
- Maintain customer files
Accounting Support
- Support monthly close process including, but not limited to, the recording of journal entries.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and prepaid accounts
- Assist in projects as needed
You Are:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting, business or finance
- Proficient user of Excel (V-lookup, Count, Sum)
- Motivated professional with strong analytical skills who performs with a high degree of accuracy and is attentive to detail. Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay is $30.00/hour for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
