We’re financing the future of energy
Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.
Our team of 95+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.
Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.
We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.
About the Role
This is a true right-hand EA role. Not pure scheduling support. Not pure project management. We are hiring a force multiplier who can take ownership of how the CCO's time, communications, and operating cadence run day to day. You will act as a gatekeeper, an editor, and a quiet operator behind one of the busiest desks at Crux.
The role is dedicated to the Chief Capital Officer, with light support to the Capital teams reporting to her — onsites, internal events, and select client-facing events on a national basis.
What You'll Own
Calendar management and gatekeeping
Prioritize aggressively against business objectives. Title meetings clearly, build attendee lists, and ensure prep context lands in advance. Defend focus time when it matters.
Inbox triage and response management
Filter and prioritize non-securities email. Draft replies on Yonette's behalf and build toward trusted delegation over time. Anything touching regulatory compliance routes only through Yonette — training to recognize those moments is part of the job.
Executive operations
Pull together meeting materials and agendas with the right context. Sit in on select meetings to capture follow-ups and track action items to completion. Coordinate interview loops and keep candidate feedback current.
Workflow systems
Maintain hygiene across HubSpot, Rippling, and Ramp (expense approval). Track candidate feedback. Keep light CRM data clean and current.
Travel and personal logistics
Maintain a single, integrated view across business and personal travel and health appointments. Yonette books her own personal travel; you will keep visibility on when she is in or out and align it with the business calendar.
Events and onsites
Coordinate closing dinners, team onsites, conferences, and client and investor events. Some travel required (roughly once a month, TBD), primarily for Capital onsites and team events.
Light deck and formatting support
Deck edits and formatting polish — not heavy content creation.
How We Operate
The CCO's day is fast, externally facing, and shaped by deal activity in real time. Priorities shift, decisions get made with incomplete information, and the inbox and calendar are the two biggest pressure points. We are looking for someone who can:
Operate proactively, not reactively
Make decisions within defined boundaries and escalate when needed
Move at the pace of the desk — Yonette works long hours and expects real-time responsiveness across a mix of Slack, text, and email
Hold the line on prioritization, and push back constructively when it serves the work
What You Bring
Must-haves
Strong judgment and prioritization
High discretion and confidentiality
Ability to manage up and push back when needed
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
Systems-oriented — you impose structure where there isn't any
Nice-to-have
Experience supporting senior executives in finance, banking, or another regulated environment
Familiarity with HubSpot or comparable CRM tools
No prior fluency in financial concepts or investor workflows is required. The right person can learn what they need on the job.
Logistics
Location: Remote, Tri-State area strongly preferred.
In-person: Approximately one day per month (TBD), plus periodic travel for capital onsites and team events.
Target start: End of May
What We Bring
We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.
