Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a critical role in bringing our innovative products to life. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering and production, ensuring a smooth transition to our production suppliers while specializing in cutting-edge electrical and electronic manufacturing processes.
**This is an on-site position, requiring 5 days/week in our Philadelphia, PA office.**
Core Functions/Duties
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure a smooth transition of new electrical and electronic designs to production suppliers.
- Work with contract manufacturers to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency, with a focus on PCB assembly, wiring, production testing and instructions.
- Build and test prototype units, evaluating design for manufacturability, particularly for electrical components and systems. Build prototype test fixtures for units to develop production support.
- Coordinate in-house sample and pilot builds, ensuring compliance with electrical safety and performance standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to improve production throughput, especially in PCB manufacturing and electrical assembly fixtures and software.
- Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturing processes align with electrical design specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on electrical troubleshooting, component selection, and process optimization for production teams.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, manufacturing test flows and software/test case definition.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in electrical manufacturing processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical manufacturing technology to implement best practices.
Compensation range for this role begins at 70,000 + bonus + equity

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on electrical or electronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control methods.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing, soldering techniques, and electronic assembly.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits and to support production facilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a production environment, particularly in electronics or electrical component manufacturing, fixturing and production line testing.
- Proficiency with hand tools, machinery, and assembly techniques for electrical systems.
- Experience in the utility, solar energy, or alternative energy space.
- Expertise in PCB design, layout, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical and mechanical design, including designing tools, fixtures, and production layouts.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in electrical troubleshooting.

US Salary Range
$70,000—$80,000 USD
