Technical Integration Engineer - EMR Integrations
Biofourmis’ products are used to treat and manage a variety of diagnoses, from congestive heart failure to cancer to infectious diseases in a remote patient situation to achieve better quality of life and overall outcomes. Our products are in great demand by major healthcare systems throughout the country. As an Integration Engineer, you will play a key role where you will use your deep technical experience in EMRs to lead the design, maintenance, enhancement and communication focusing on interoperability while delivering our projects between Biofourmis solutions and customers’ EMR systems. This individual will be responsible for key integration deliverables, technical trend analysis and assist in defining the technical direction of our milestones. This position will have a responsibility to create new patterns, standards, and best practices to align with Enterprise Integration and Interoperability strategies while coordinating across internal stakeholders. This role requires hands on coding/scripting experience with a focus on interfaces related to remote patient monitoring. This role reports into the Director of Technical Program Management, EMR Integrations.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external team to present integration capabilities and technology to our stakeholders.
- As our EMR integration SME, use standard Hl7 interface engine templates and FHIR components to deploy customer interfaces that support our product offerings throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with our core offshore development team to lead with the integration strategies.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Technical Program Management and Product Management to continuously lead and define customer facing artifacts and integration architecture.
- Collaborate with offshore development teams to continuously scale and define our integration offerings across products.
- Create documentation to support our integrations processes and workflow.
- Serve as lead technical resource on a project team (including users, developers and/or vendors), to plan, coordinate, analyze, design, review and implement application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needs.
- Contribute to and apply Healthcare IT industry best practices.
- Participate in a cross-functional IT engineering group that reviews designs from an enterprise perspective.
- Participate in the design review process and support the overall Interoperability Architecture Management process. Also, influence and drive change to architecture processes, strategies and standards, as needed.
- Support pre-project efforts in terms of working with the user team or vendor during meetings/presentations, crafting conceptual solutions, assisting with time estimates, and documenting designs.
- Collaborate with the broader interoperability community to provide input into integration strategies and standards.
- Research and facilitate the development and review of solution, integration, workflow, cloud, infrastructure.
- Create or review IT plans that manage clear and realistic expectations of what technology can offer in terms of products, services, and delivery mechanisms.
- Establish, maintain and review enterprise interoperability models to enable applications development and decision-supporting activities, consistent with integration plans.
- Work in collaboration with Technical Program Manager to build and maintain Integration and Interoperability strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in EMR deployment, FHIR and Hl7 integrations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with large EMR systems (Including Epic, Cerner etc) integration to 3rd party vendor projects. Prior Epic experience preferred.
- Current Epic Certification (Bridges, InterConnect, App Orchard, other).
- Certification/proven experiences using Mirth.
- Hands-on coding experience with HL7, SMART on FHIR protocols.
- Experience coordinating vendor solution delivery and partnering effectively with vendors to meet business needs.
- Previous experience should include significant background leading broad and complex technical work with proven success in the design and delivery of quality scalable integration solutions on time, on budget and in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Experience in solution design principles and practices, system development methodologies, and software life cycles.
- Experience coordinating vendor solution delivery and partnering effectively with vendors to meet business needs.
- Familiarity with multiple, diverse technical integrations, technologies, and processing environments, including cloud and SaaS technologies.
- Undergraduate or graduate qualifications in and engineering discipline, preferably in computer science.
