About The Team
The Reconciliation team is part of Aspire’s Risk Operations department. The Reconciliation team ensures that client ledgers, client balances, and client money flows are correct and that client funds are safeguarded. The team acts as a second line of defense on ledger and safeguarding risks.
About the Role
As Reconciliation Senior Specialist, you manage the reconciliation of our client accounts for one of the countries where Aspire operates. You report to the Reconciliation Lead who manages reconciliation at group level.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure proper reconciliation of client balances and client transactions on all our accounts, in multiple currencies, and for all Aspire licensed entities
- Investigate, document and escalate non-reconciled transactions and ledger discrepancies, as well as suggest and align on remediative and preventive measures
- Manage the ledger reconciliation software we use to reconcile client ledgers
- Help build and manage operations and risk management programs to mitigate ledger and safeguarding risks
- Monitor and test the effectivity and resilience of risk management rules, processes, policies, programs, and continuously improve them
- Report on relevant metrics: Reconciliation rates, Reconciliation SLAs, Auto reconciliation rates, Balance discrepancies
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders - Finance, Product, Compliance - to rally everyone around creating strong and effective practices to manage client funds, to resolve issues, to design client Aspire’s product and tech
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in a reconciliation role within financial services, demonstrating a deep understanding of the domain.
- Proven ability to take ownership and initiative, making things happen promptly and being hands-on when necessary.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate requirements, align with key stakeholders, and build consensus for implementing strategies and action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and targets in a highly unstructured environment.
- Expertise in balancing risk and business objectives, making decisions that account for both and rallying stakeholders around them.
