About The Team

About the Role
- Design and implement a best-in-class AML program to comply with policies and regulations
- Manage end-to-end onboarding of clients, from their request to open an account, through KYC, until they are verified and receive access to the platform
- Assess the risk of clients during onboarding & KYC, and use a risk-based approach to do due diligence and monitor clients during their lifetime with Aspire
- Monitor existing clients & their payments activity on the platform to make sure they are legitimate & in line with Aspire’s risk appetite
- Monitor and test the effectivity and relevance of the existing AML program and continuously improve it
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders - Product, Compliance, Sales - as well as external stakeholders - regulators, finance partners - to rally everyone around creating a strong and effective AML risk governance structure
- Balance effectively commercial, operational, & risk objectives: onboarding & keeping clients with Aspire, operating effectively & at high productivity levels, reducing the risk profile of Aspire clients, complying with internal policies & external regulations
- Own AML operational & risk related metrics: Onboarding conversion, SLAs, Compliance with internal policies, Onboarding client satisfaction, AML escalations, risk profile of clients onboarded and of the client base, RFIs, suspicious activity detected, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of risk and AML operations experience in the financial services industry.
- Proven track record in a leadership role within a financial services company with exceptional coaching and team-building capabilities.
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks and targets, particularly in the dynamic and unstructured environment typical of startups.
- Possesses a deep understanding of the company's trajectory and can devise, articulate, and execute strategies to propel the organization to the next level.
- Capable of making decisions that strike a balance between risk and business objectives, gaining stakeholder support for chosen courses of action.
- Prioritizes customer experience, ensuring that decisions align with the overarching goal of putting the customer first.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience thriving in startup environments, showcasing resilience and adaptability in high-growth and fast-paced settings.
- Background in consulting or banking, underscoring a profound understanding of strategic thinking and operational excellence at the highest echelons.
