About the team:
At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 4 verticals: (i) Traditional Finance with Accounting, Tax, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering and (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.
About the role:
You will be part of the Strategy & Planning team where you are tasked to help in the strategic projects, through market research, insightful interpretation of dashboards, effective use of the firm's capital and the successful execution of our strategy. This will be a unique opportunity to learn key skills in mergers and acquisition, market research and strategic planning.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Support the planning and execution of the company’s strategy by conducting market research, deep dives into P&L and unit economics, and other analyses
- Conduct market expansion analysis by evaluating the market and competitive landscape, regulatory environment and market entry strategy
- Continuous review of financial analysis methods, tools and costs drivers to provide effective analysis and help drive good business decisions
- Develop robust financial models and detailed sensitivity and scenario analysis
- Develop an understanding of the existing business (including products/services, customers, competitors, the overall market and trends) through research and analysis of business units
- Assist in preparing and improving analysis to management and investors including running complex data analysis relating to financial forecasting, cohort analysis, product planning, market research etc.
Minimum qualifications:
- Full-time student in Singapore, ideally be able to commit full-time / part-time for 3 to 6 months from May 2024
- Proficient in MS Office, especially with Excel (pivot, vlookup) skills
- Understanding of financial statements and financial modelling
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy

- Able to persuade, negotiate and influence key stakeholders
- Have a passion for finance, tech and working in start-ups
